Here are some images from this past weekend's Summerfolk festival, which was a blast, btw. In the weeks leading up to the fest, I was barely aware that it was coming, but in the last few days, I started getting really excited, and I wasn't let down.

Highlights? The McFlies. They do acoustic covers of 80's pop songs, and the energy in front of that stage was bigger than anything I've seen at Summerfolk in 15 years. Contrast that to former artistic director Don Bird telling the late 90's crowd that they could boo all they wanted, but STILL NO DANCING!!

Also, do some research on Coco Love Alcorn, who did a great workshop with Evalyn Parry. An hour's worth of songs about bicycles, complete with a guy beating on a bike as a drum kit.

And the Musical Instrument Petting Zoo! I played violin, banjo, lap steel, cohone, sitar, steel drum, hammer dulcimer, autoharp, standing harp, and other instruments I can't name.

And roaming from campfire to campfire, listening to top notch musicians jam until 4am (I left at 4; the music kept going...)

Enough! Pictures!
