I shared lots of high school hijinks with Joel, and I was really happy to be able to capture his wedding day. It took place on his mom's beautiful farm near Kemble, and even though it was one of the hottest days of the Summer (some claimed the very hottest), Laura and Joel made it through with poise and good humour. Congrats guys!

It was really cool for me to shoot this wedding because I knew both of these guys when they were in high school and I was a beginning teacher. I kept running into Ranae over the years, and I was surprised and happy to know that she was marrying Jesse.
It was a cold day, but the sun was shining and everyone was in a great mood. Nice work guys!
Jesse+Ranae: first look
I was so excited to hear that some folks had started a roller derby league in my area. I can't, of course, participate, but given how awesome it looks, I was glad to see that our resident femal population could get in on the action.
But speaking of excitement, I was super pumped when one member contacted me because they needed some photos done. So on a rainy Sunday night, I headed out to the Kilsyth arena to watch and record the fun. Here's what we came up with.
You can also see the entire set here.

This race was awesome, and I was lucky enough to be the official race photographer.
There were two courses on offer: the first was a fun, very achievable, 25 km route that featured 4km of kayaking, followed by a 15 km bike, and a 6 km run. The other course followed an ambitious route with a 40km bike, followed by a 16 km run, an 18km kayak, a 20 km run, and a 6 km run. Wow.
The race took place all over the Bruce Peninsula, and as one might guess, that made for some really cool backgrounds and a lot of cool shots.
You can find the shots on facebook here, and if you are want to buy prints, you can do that here. Prints are only available for purchase until September 30, though, so don't put it off.
